Tickets to Symphony performances to be available to Library Members

A new partnership between the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra and Thunder Bay Public Library will give 224 Library Members the opportunity to attend Symphony performances for free this fall and winter. A set of tickets for each show in the Northern Lights, Voices, Masterworks, Pops and Family series will be available through each of the Library’s four branches, allocated by random drawing of Library Members who register their names in advance of each show.

“We’re very excited to launch this partnership,” says Raili Roy, Director of Community Development for Thunder Bay Public Library. “Libraries are a great way for communities to pool their resources so that opportunities like this one can be made available to everyone. This is an incredible addition to the Library’s collection of Thunder Bay attractions and experiences and we can’t thank the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra enough for working with us to make it happen.”

Ryleigh Dupuis, Executive Director of the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra, says she sees the new partnership as a great way to improve access to performances, putting Symphony shows within reach for more Thunder Bay residents and inspiring the next generation of musicians and music-lovers. “The love of music begins with the experience of music,” she says. “This partnership lets us create new access to that experience for more of the community. We’re very pleased to work with the Library to make it possible.”

The TBSO has 24 performances scheduled for the 2024-2025 season.Tickets for most of the performances will be allocated in sets of two, with the exception of Family Series shows, which will come in sets of 4 to accommodate family groups.

The first draw for tickets will open September 20 - 26, 2024 for the October 11 Northern Lights performance featuring vocalist Paula DiGiuseppe. Winners will be contacted September 27.
