Important Change Coming to our Digital Collections
Starting Monday, March 17, we will begin migrating our digital titles from cloudLibrary to hoopla, a new platform that offers an improved digital borrowing experience. During this transition, digital titles will no longer be available on cloudLibrary and you will not be able to renew existing loans. Titles will become accessible again starting April 1 on hoopla.
Although you will not be able to borrow or renew titles during the transition, Library patrons will still have access to cloudLibrary until March 31; we recommend taking the steps below to preserve your holds, saved, and borrowing history.
Other digital services have different end dates; for example our subscription to NewsStand will end on March 16th. Access to Naxos and Kanopy will end March 31st, ComicsPlus will continue to June 30th.
How to Prepare
To make this transition as smooth as possible, here’s what you can do:
- Check your holds on cloudLibrary and make a note of them—these will not transfer automatically to hoopla.
- Save your favourites from cloudLibrary, as they will not carry over to hoopla.
- Review your borrowing history and make note of any titles you may want to revisit—this history will not transfer to hoopla.
- Stay tuned for instructions on how to set up your hoopla account and start borrowing once everything is available.
We know how much you value access to digital books, audiobooks, and media, and we appreciate your patience as we complete this transition. If a title you’re looking for isn’t available during this time, please check hoopla after April 1, when all our licenses will be fully transferred.
