Let's talk about City Council! A City Council Review Committee has been formed to review the current composition of City Council and the ward system.
The Library is actively seeking participants from the Indigenous community that may have been under-represented in the recent survey that was done online.
If you are interested in participating, please fill out the registration form below and answer all of the questions.
If you don't have a phone number or email address, please contact Tina Maronese in person at the Waverley Library - or talk to any staff member at any Library who can connect you with Tina.
Lunch and an honorarium will be provided to all confirmed participants. Smudging will take place at this event.
These questions will be discussed at the event in small groups:
- What are the advantages / disadvantages of ward based representation?
- What are the advantages / disadvantages of at-large based representation?
- Should City Councillor be considered a part time or full time position?
- How many members of Council should there be in total? How should they be allocated between at-large/ward/Mayor?
