YOUth Review: Wings of Fire – The Dragonet Prophecy by Tui T. Sutherland

Wings of Fire - The Dragonet Prophecy is an amazing read! This book immediately caught my eye at my school’s library. I borrowed it, and I couldn’t put the book down! Wings of Fire - The Dragonet Prophecy is a New York Times Best Seller and has sold 14 million copies. If you are looking for a book with mysterious prophecies, dragons, friendship, plus action and adventure then this book is for you.

Tui. T. Sutherland is an amazing author who has helped to create and bring to life many other books, and this book certainly didn’t disappoint! The characters are bursting with personality and the world is described vividly, so it's easy to get immersed in the story. The Dragonet Prophecy is centered around five dragonets born to fulfill a prophecy to stop the 20-year-long war amongst the dragon tribes of the land of Pyrrhia. The five dragonets escape together from the cave in which they were raised and travel across Pyrrhia, looking for refuge, their families, and their destinies. Will they fulfill the prophecy? What enemies will they encounter? Will they reunite with their families? You will have to read the book to find out!

I liked how it touched on the aspects of war, the power of friendship, and finding yourself despite the world’s expectations of you. This book is a must-read for middle school students interested in dragons and fantasy. It will keep you wanting more, before you know it you’ll have read the whole series! Amazing job, Tui T. Sutherland!
