YOUth Review: The Reappearance of Rachel Price by Holly Jackson

I was thrilled to find out that the bestselling author of the A Good Girl's Guide to Murder series, Holly Jackson, freshly released a new read called The Reappearance of Rachel Price and it took me on an expedition jam-packed with twists and turns on every page. If you have the desire to pick up a mysterious and suspenseful book but are not sure if this book is the right one for you, here is a summary of the book and my full opinion with it.

18-year-old Bel is the main character of this fictional story. She is the daughter of Rachel Price who mysteriously vanished from her car 16 years ago with no evidence of what happened to her. Young Bel was the only witness left behind in the backseat with no memory of what occurred that afternoon. Ever since, Bel has lived under the shadow of her mom along with her dad, Charlie. When Charlie agrees to a documentary request about his deceased wife, memories are brought up from the past and life is filled with interviews and the constant presence of the camera crew. Then, Rachel shockingly reappears, stunning the world. Her story regarding where she was is peculiar to Bel as she is unsure if her mom is telling a truthful tale. Bel must find the truth.

This story makes for an addicting thriller with a dash of terror as Bel discovers who she can trust. I loved the character of Bel being negative about life in the beginning, but slowly becoming more positive and
friendly towards the end. However, I was personally not satisfied with the book’s conclusion since I did not favor some events that took place. Despite that, I adored this book of suspense. To mystery lovers, this book is for you!
