YOUth Review: Icebreaker by Hannah Grace

Hannah Grace’s Icebreaker is a dual point of view, enemies to lovers, university-based romance novel. This novel follows main characters Anastasia Allen and Nathan Hawkins as they meet and learn to co-exist. Anastasia is a very well put together girl. She has her life, both day to day and general life goals, planned to a T. She is a very talented figure skater who has always had a hatred towards hockey players. When an event occurs leaving University of California Maple Hills (UMHC) sports centre with only one ice rink that the figure skaters will need to share with the hockey players, Anastasia is introduced to hockey team captain Nate Hawkins. Nate is a fairly typical hockey player who happens to get into some trouble of his own, whether he should have or not. Anastasia and Nathan are forced to interact when they have to share the ice rink, and this aspect of the storyline drives the plot further.

Personally, I did quite enjoy reading this novel. I feel like this book would be most enjoyable for readers who are in a similar age range as the characters. The pages are filled with a well written storyline, spice, and a great enemies to lovers novel. I really enjoyed the dual P.O.V. of the novel as it gave me a deeper understanding of the characters and their perspectives. I also really enjoyed the characters and how well developed and thought out even the minor characters of the book were, from their backstories to their personalities.
